small, portable for LANS and stuff. i play some of the games on steam like css, cs 1.6, day of defeat. this would be amazing if i could build this for 1000. hopefully i can get this by summer or by xmas or something.

for $1000 i need (obvious stuff + misc. stuff)
case
mobo
amd/intel (whatever is better i dont play amazingly good games with awesome graphics or anything)
psu
videocard
keyboard/mouse
hdd (160+)
cd drives (2)
ram (2 or 4 gig)
OS (windows xp)
speakers
monitor (if the build goes over 1000 because of the monitor just take it out)

They both save alot, and play the games you listed to some effectiveness, but I would reccomend the one I first linked.
Use the case you linked-20$ c2d 6320 -20

I think what CPT muller means is someone uses a dremmel to cut of the useless parts of the card to get it in.

Kent.

Nope, the guy dremmeled part of the metal in the case(Im not entirely sure which bits) and kept going at it until he got his card in there. I saw the card, aqua mark scores and cpu-z, it was legit.

hey i realized on the build there are no cd drives. i wanna know which ones i should get. i really want 2 of em.

Im not shure which in preticular, but anything with SATA would work.
@XRT, he had a pretty well moded case, he had a big zalman flower cooler and extra venting fans, as well as cold cathodes that flashed to the base(that was sick, around 11pm they had a DJ mixing tech no live and his case was well in sync).

Sorry, thought the one I linked was just the new model, the review said it was an inch or two bigger.

** its .7 inches longer overall**
