Building a new box

Hello. A couple months back I posted a request for help building a new gaming PC. I got tons of great advice and then my financial situation went into the sink hole and I had to do some minor patch work on my current PC instead of replacing it. Now, I am looking to try again. I need to build a new gaming PC. I have no doubt I can put it all together, but because I am so rusty, I have immense doubts about actually getting the right parts. I don't want to miss something or mess something up. My price range is roughly 1200 dollars. The only things that are salvageable from my current PC are the monitor, keyboard and mouse. Please ask any questions you need to, I will be watching this thread like a hawk.

Thank you very much.

Okay, some things I forgot to note. I need this computer to last for a good couple years. So I would like to get at least 8 gigs of ram, and 1 tb of hard drive space.

How "rough" are we talking here...before shipping?

My price range is roughly 1200 dollars

Another 4GB's of RAM and a bigger drive would break the $1200 mark.

Talking fairly rough. I don't need the top of the line, just enough to play the newer games mostly smoothly, and I don't want to have to worry too much about upgrading for a year or two. I'm not talking super hardcore, just need a good solid machine. And the hard drive I know is going to cost a good bit, but I've been dealing with small hard drives for far too long. Can't stand it anymore. It might be a bit kneejerk to go that high, but if it costs more I'll suck it up. I'm wanting to keep around the 1200 mark though if I can.

Would there be any problems with using this case as opposed to the suggested one?

Looked over the specs and didn't see any problems (by the way, thought about it and decided if I need to I can just upgrade the ram later) and its a bit more expensive, but I figure its something I want to take some pride in.

There would be no issue using that case.

4Gigs of RAM will do you fine, especially DDR3 1333. Most programs and games don't use that much anyway. :good:
