Building a new computer * Need help*

So yeah, im building a new computer, i got all the parts picked out and im at about my max price limit right now. I just want to check if all the parts are compatible ( incase i missed something), if the system is not balance ( e.g. going with an 8800 gtx video card and a 1.5 ghz processor. I didnt do it just an example with a bit of an exhageration) And if anyone has any better suggestions for better parts for cheaper, or if im picking some parts known to have troubles.

Anyway here it is.

PSU:http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1899442&Tab=11&NoMapp=0

cd/dvd drive: http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1903249&CatId=88

Floppy drive: http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2143215&CatId=287

now i left out the keyboard and mouse but with those i think the grand total comes to about $1875 ( $CDN) so about 1400-1500 ($US). This is like the MAX.

Is this psu any good? http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2446914&CatId=106
It didnt have as many good reviews as the one i had picked out above BUT its i think a tiny bit cheaper and also comes with a cd/dvd drive which is saving me a bit of money which is good!

And like i said at teh start of the post, am i going overboard with anything compared to the performance of the rest of the parts?

Note: This will be strictly a gaming computer and some internet surfing ( forums and whatnot) No video editing or any of that so that will probably help. AS for the type of games pretty much WoW, Counterstrike, Natural selection ( halflife mod, plan to get the source version when it comes out ) And im also looking at getting bf2142 cuz it looks pretty cool. And any other games in the future.

Now a few quick questions: Im looking to shave abit off the price sooo. Can i get away with no floppy drive at all or is it NEEDED.

Im not planning to burn cds ( i can on the family computer) But i do want the drive to read burnt cds. I only really need the drive to get games/programs onto my computer and i plan to get that software that burns cds onto your hardrive so you can play games without the disc. So it doesnt really matter how fast it is. So, anyone know of a cheaper cd/dcd drive that fits that description.

Oh and i forgot to mention, i dont really plan on upgrading this and am hoping it will run almost all games atleast for the next year and a 1/2. Or atleast not upgrading it for another year and a 1/2. So i dont really care about dx.10 compatability because im not gonna get that as soon as it comes out,

Another question.

Will I only see the performance difference between a dual core processor and a single core processor with all other things alike ( 2.2 ghz and other stuff) when im multi tasking?

This will be a gaming pc so aside from running ventrilo or teamspeak in the background ( very small programs) the only thing running will be the game itself. SO will i notice the difference if im not multi tasking?

It's a hell of a lot better than the Aspire you'd picked out! It will be more than adequate for your system.

You can get away without one.

It will also be beneficial with multithreaded games.

As far as your choices go, the case includes a (crappy) PSU. One without the PSU may be cheaper.

More importantly, you've selected DDR2 RAM along with a S939 processor and board, which support DDR only. You'll need to change either the RAM or CPU & Mobo. Have you looked into a Core 2 Duo based build?

Aside from that, I'd be inclined to spend a little less on the CPU (try a Core 2 Duo E6300, or AMD X2 3800+, for example), and RAM. Use the extra money to get a slightly better video card.
