Building a new computer...need input!

intel because it offers more performence for your bucks.

I will be using it for video, picture and music editing/downloading/recording/storage along with the common home computing and internet surfing.

Notice gamming was not mention. what was is video and music editting. A athlon 3200+ cost $190 and pentium 3E cost $188. In video editing the pentium performs better then the athlon. So explain to me how he would be getting more performance for his buck. If gamming is your main goal the athlon 64 the way to go but if video editing is your main goal you might want to conisder a pentium.

Ehhhhhh, i wouldn't be too sure about that.....I would go with the 3500 anyway

depends on what you doing in something like DviX 5.2 video Encoding even a pentium 3.0ghz beats the athlon 64 3500+.
