Building a new computer

I've never built a computer before but I've put new ram in, graphic cards, hard drives, wireless cards, sound cards,

I'm trying to convince my dad to buy me a new computer and i got a friend to put a list together of cheap products that would run new games hafe decently so he did but my questions are

Should i follow a tut and put the cpu in my self or get one of my dads friends who's built computers before to do it? (sounds a bit dodgy with the special gel n all)

Heres the list he gave me will all the parts work together? will it run new games ok? and seeing i ain't got much money, will the motherboard be ok so i can keep upgrading things on it like future graphic cards that come out?

Got some dodgy Sumvision 650w one off ebay, it scares me seeing on it, it ain't even got a power on or power off button xD
