Amd or Intel???

I've always gone intel but I can't ignore the prices of the amd. I also can't ignore the fact that sony and microsoft both went amd for their next gem systems. And yes this is to be a gaming pc

If you want, just state your budget and someone, including me, will come up with a complete build suggestion.
For me, personally, I would choose AMD for a budget gamer, but if you got the dough, Intel makes some great gaming CPUs.
Today you want a quad core, and AMD just makes cheaper quad cores. In case you don't need a quad core, Intel offers great value too.
But most games now, and future games should, benefit from multiple cores.

1k is budget and I was actually lookin at decent priced 8 core amds. And all need buolt is the tower I already have moniter, mouse and keyboard

1000 you got.
look at this

Intel Core i5 4670K
Asus TUF Z87-Gryphon
asus gtx 760 oc.
haf xb
coolermaster silent pro m2 620w
cost 736 euro, plenty left i thinkl for ssd/hdd, memory

oke no eightcore.

That's $982

I would look at something like:

AMD FX-6300
ASUS M5A97 R2.0 or Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3
AMD HD 7850 2GB
Kingston HyperX 1600MHz 8GB (2x4GB)
Corsair CX600M
Seagate Barracuda 1TB
Fractal Design Define R4 or Arc Midi R2
Some good-decent CPU cooler and perhaps an SSD

I think that's doable for less than $1000, but I'm in a bit of a hurry, so can't check prices.

I would not spend 1k on an AMD machine, a quad core intel outperforms an AMD 8 core.

I think all the talk about AMD on a budget is nonsense, intel have processors starting as low as £50 which is about $77

I agree with turbo a 1k budget is enough to be looking at a 4670k based unit.

Intel has the G1610 for $50, which is a dual core 2.6GHz non-overclockable CPU.
AMD has an overclockable Athlon X2 370K for $60, which runs stock at 4GHz (Intel is faster per clock, I know that).
In that price bracket, I personally wouldn't think twice about going with AMD, because it's overclockable and much higher frequency.
Now, I have the G550 (the predecessor to the G1610) and it's a great chip, but in terms of price/performance, AMD tends to be better in the low price range.

Decent build but I'd go with an 8320 and a 7870 if possible (if not, 6300 and 7870), should still be under 1000 I reckon.

But I too would recommend Intel for a 1000 USD build. i5 4670K is an awesome processor. I'd get it over the 6300 or 8320 any day of the week. Pair the 4670K with a good Z87 board and you've got a great setup.

If you've got money left for an SSD, you want at least 128GB and the OCZ Vertex 4 is a good drive, if a little pricey. SanDisk make some good drives too.

I snagged a refurbished 120GB OCZ Vertex Plus for under $60. Was a last minute addition for my build because I wanted an SSD but didnt' have a whole lot left over after I went 16GB's over 8GB's and EVO over stock cooler. Some will debate more on refurbished items compared to new, Intel Vs AMD, and grain of rice sized thermal paste vs other methods.

I will agree, $1,000 build. Go Intel. I'm an AMD fanboy but the numbers in benchmarks won't lie, most of the time. ;)
