hi guys!
got around 500 pounds to make a new rig could use some advice i have 3 ideas at the moment

I allready have a 600W 36A PSU and good SATA HDD so thats no problem
Also i have a 2600XT that gives me pause to sell as i just got it.
I have a intel nvidia idea there too but really im a AMD ATI fan.

1. sell 2600xt
Athlon 64 X2 6000+
Asus M2R32-MVP AM2 CrossFire MB
Geil Ultra DDR2 2.0GB PC6200
Sapphire ATi Radeon HD 2900xt
Antec Nine Hundred Gaming Case
At 553 Pounds

2. Would be to get another 2600XT and crossfire it
thlon 64 X2 6000+
Asus M2R32-MVP AM2 CrossFire MB
Geil Ultra DDR2 2.0GB PC6200
Antec Nine Hundred Gaming Case
Sapphire ATi Radeon HD 2600xt
AT 380 with money to do *something* with -any ideas?-

3. INTEL NVIDIA rig
Geil Ultra DDR2 2.0GB PC6200
Antec Nine Hundred Gaming Case
Intel CPU Core 2 Duo E6600
Abit Fatality FP-IN9-SLi MB
INNO3D GeForce 8800 GTS
Thats 530 pounds

-Some thoughts of mine-
------------------------
Things like the ram and case iv kept constant because i like em
I think that all of them have nearly identical preformance
Option 2 would be good because it would be my first SLI/CF rig but by far the worst preformance.
GAMING is the key here.
I have a rather stupid purchase for gaming -considering my budget-
HP W20 20.1" Flat panel running at *ouch* 1680x1050

So give me some ideas what do i do?

First of all, I advise against SLI/Crossfire as it is not giving twice the performance and it costs twice the same, also, in some games it jsut doesn't give any "boost" at all. Therefore, if you do not go with dual GPU, u can also save on the mobo and get a better GPU. And when it will be outdated for the games you play, you can get another high end GPU that will perform better than the 2 u could have had right now.

As for performance, well Core 2 Duos are having the lead right now and with the recent price drops from Intel, the choice easily goes towards those. I don't know about England, but here the E6750 is quite cheap... Usually cheaper than the E6600 because stores haven't updated their prices yet, but the difference is so small that the E6750 is IMHO the best value.

Asides from that, your builds seem fine. Keep in mind tho that with Intel DDR2-800 will produce the same results as DDR2-667 unless you overclock, so its another path to save a bit of money. Also, I think you did not talk about a DVD-drive, have u forgotten that ?

I think the third build looks the best.
A note of warning though with the Abit Fatality FP-IN9-SLi you are very likely to have problems until you update the BIOS to the latest version. I would advise that you choose the gigabyte DS3.

well from looking around i think ill go with build number 1

The 2900xt beats a 8800gts so thats good
and from what iv heard the preformance difference between a intel 6600 and a amd 6000 nd the amd is cheaper so looks like i will go for that

When the e6600 is overclocked it can easily outmatch the 6000+. Any of the core 2 duos are easily overclocked.

I would get the third build.

And it would better to change E6600 to E6750 because they have similar price...

Well i really do have my heart set on first build
so just one question will it all work ok?
