Building a PC...

Not A AMD Fan

New Member
hi all and sorry if this is posted in the wrong place (just signed up to the forum) but I am building a PC relatively soon with a budget of £750...excluding the case, keyboard, mouse and monitors.

The PC will be used for gaming and the occasional essay, I was wandering if this is the best build for my budget. (one request, i would like a Intel processor and a Nvidia graphics card) here are the specs/hardware of the build.

CPU: Intel i5 4440

GPU: Nvidia GTX 660

MOBO:MSI Z87-GD65 Gaming Intel Z87 Socket 1150 Motherboard

PSU: 500W ACE PSUACE500BR Single Rail, 1x120mm Fan, ATX v2.03, PSU

RAM: 2X4GB Corsair Vegance

HDD: (1X1TB,2X500GB) western drive

OS:windows 8.1

If there is any hardware that you think is worth replacing to make the build better fell free to put post it also if you can scrap that build and come up with a new better build feel free to post it aswell also if i have missed out any components, I will greatly appreciate it if you tell me :D

sorry if I respond late I have college until 15:40pm :/

Thanks :)

I would suggest a GTX 760. It is better than the 660 and it is right about the same price, give or take a few dollars.

I agree the PSU needs to be replaced. Cisco here recommended Corsair, I have a Corsair in my current Computer and it is great.

As far as HDD. 2TB is a bit Overkill. What do you need so much for?

And again.... Get the GTX 760. It is almost same price and far superior.

Why everyone recommend Corsair?
They are OK for the price, but for quality, I would vote for seasonic.

Yeah, Seasonic are the best ones. But they do build psu's for other brands like Corsair and EVGA for example. My Corsair HX are about 5 years old by now. And I definite have no complaints.

And I say as FPS Titan. Why all those internal harddrives? If you need a lot of hdd space Not A AMD fan? Get a 2 Tb external USB harddrive instead.
That many harddrives, will also add quite much hot air to the system.

Seasonic build some of Corsair HX and AX.
But the problem is even in the same line of Corsair, the PSU can be OEM by difference source.
So it is easier to buy Seasonic/ XFX than look out for which Corsair built by seasonic.

BTW which EVGA PSU built by Seasonic?

I dont know, my dad corsair cx600 has been working fine in hios build for two months now, and its pretty cheap too. I just like corsair, cuz their boxes are black instead of that ugly great or white of seasonics or antecs
