Building an Ubuntu media PC

I've got a few spare parts lying around and decided to build a proper media PC for the TV instead of buying the usual recorders etc. Im using MythUbuntu (http://www.mythbuntu.org/) as the platform instead of WMC (Just fancy a change from it, plus Ubuntu is free :P)

Here's the rundown on the parts:

Micro ATX gigabyte motherboard - GA 965p DS3
Intel Q8200
4GB DDR2 1600 RAM
Silverstone Milo micro atx case
Blackgold PCIe tuner: http://www.scan.co.uk/products/blac...card-dual-dvb-t-and-dvb-t2-dual-digital-dvb-c
1GB samsung f3 spinpoint HDD
ATI 4850
Corsair Builder 430W PSU

Only thing I'm not sure on is the PSU, Antec do a similar spec'd one except its modular: http://www.scan.co.uk/products/520w...-crossfire-eps-12v-quiet-fan-atx-scan-exclusi
Is it worth the extra £20 or so?

Also, I have plenty of those intel CPU coolers, but If anyone knows of any heatsinks that would fit this system well and doesn't have any fans, that would really help bring the noise down!

I'm pretty sure there's no compatibility issues with this setup, but if there are any ubuntu/linux people out there, would be keen to know what you think :D

Cheers!

The only thing that I am concerned about is your tv tuner. The V4L drivers seem to only like certain cards. Have you checked for compatibility for that card?

Do you mean in regards to compatibility with Ubuntu? I looked on their Wiki page and it is indeed compatible with it.

yeah that is what I meant. The only other thing that I can think of is that the PSU is a bit under powered the Antec one that you linked looks good.

really i'd say the gpu is more overpowered than the psu is under, that card prob won't get over like 5% usage with movies and media stuff.

Yeah probs, but the motherboard I'm using doesn't have on-board graphics and I don't really want to buy a motherboard that does to save some money. Might as well use what parts I have lying around.
