The CPU should have thermal compound with it. It will likely either be pre-applied to the heat sink, or in a small tube. However, this will be better than anything that comes with it:

Arctic silver 5

If he's upgrading the case, the Tempest EVO seems more down his alley:

Already has 3 LED fans, and tons of room inside.

Keep in mind, TS, that any pic that shows a stock case glowing like that has been enhanced. It takes CCFL's to do that.

ya case doesnt look as cool though lol ill look for another one im sure ill find my dream case eventually.

this seems kinda nice but on the pricier side http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811517004

so with thermal compound i just put a little dot on the cpu and spread it around?

I do like that one above lots of fans but always blue haha. Do these fans look any good seems to be a lot of airflow yet still on the quieter side for only 9$ they also come in green so idk which color id like yet.

Case and cathode can easily be switched for whatever you prefer - Cooler Master Elite Series has nice side-panel cases for ~$55 shipped (first 2 on the page below)

^ what's wrong with these cooler masters?

don't bother modding a plain black case into a case w/ window and led fans when you can buy one with a window and all the fans included, cheap! not to mention if you bang up your case while modding

now need to find some case to put it with do you know if window kits work at all?

something like that. then hit those with a cheap plain black case.

this looks like a headache :(

Doesn't have a side window...he wants one I think

TS, what is your favorite color, and total budget for the case including extras? I'll go find some cases that have both cool looks and the best features, and post them here.

The XClio case you posted is awesome, btw, but be warned that it's large even for a full tower case. It's huge.

edit: also:
I'd stay away from the acrylic cases. They look cool at first but they're kinda' cheesy and aren't very durable. There's a reason there aren't many high end ones.

Pretty much all you need to make the case glow is a CCFL kit and a side window. That'll do a better job than fans will by far.
