building laptops

notebookparts.com is really the only place I've found. I haven't looked a lot for notebook stuff though.
 
Ive always thought its just too much trouble trying to build a laptop - I prefer to buy outright.

Does it cost more to build yourself?

I dont know about a labtop, but desktop's are cheaper to built yourself.
 
because there is really no standardized form factor, it's virtually impossible to build a laptop. The best you could do is duplicate an existing computer from a retailer, but for a higher cost and no warentee. With the abuse Laptops sustain and the fragility of LCD's, the warentee is worth a heck of a lot
