Building monster computer(to me) for $855. just need your though ,befor i buy it

lol, i mean, to me this computer will be the last thing i build for my self,, after this ill be using laptops, because of the portability, i just want to get it right the first time. i dont want to spend 800 on a machine,later to find out if would had put 200 more i could have a even better piece of pc. my limit would be though 1000, a computer its a very big part of my life, but she doesnt sleep with me (yet) and its too much for a piece of hard ware. i want to get a64 socket 939 i think with a good mobo. after this post i wont bother ya anymore,and i am very thanks full for all your imputs,means a lot..

Hell no .. the cpu and vc will ensure that objective will fail. Wait ... $800USD ... maybe doable. Not doable if you factor in the drive array and ram and stuff though. You can do it with a Socket754 though

ah...that clears things up. I think you could get that for $800USD...but you wouldn't have a case, HD, CD-ROM, PSU, gfx card...lol just CPU, Mobo, RAM (decent), and maybe a crappy gfx card.
 
Have a look for something along the lines of the following as a core:
AMD Athlon64-3400 (Socket754)
MSI K8N Neo Platinum (Socket754, nForce3-250)
1GB PC3200 (either 1x1024 or 2x512 doesnt matter)
As for video, sound card and harddrives/opticals it depends on what you need :)
 
4w4k3 how does your machine reacts :confused: , its halo2, half life 2 playable,are graphics slow in high detail and resolution, how lon git takes to boot. i guess then your computer seem like the one i was starting with :rolleyes: ,and if so it will work i guess, ill go witht something like that :(

by the way im in the USA, i dont know much about forign countrys,although i am foreigh formt eh dominican republic.... just to let you know wheni talk about money its from u.s............by the way new york, uptown washing tin heights, the only guy here that knows something about computers

im not sure what you mean...i dont game at all so i dont need gfx. it boots fast...probably under 25secs...not really sure. it will run super_pi 1MB test in 39secs. and i can run it 28C idle...usually 38C though with closed case and no room fan.

that RAM you picked out is very nice...i would get it if i had the $$$$. the gfx card you suggested is fine as well. If you dont want to overclock then stick with the processor you chose as well...otherwise i suggest 2400/2500/2600 mobile chip for overclocking.

im not trying to disrispect your machine,,just that your specs are like the specs of the one that i started with. and if i was oging to consider that one, i just wanted to know if yours would play games without a flaw.. sorry for the misssunderstandment

its ok i understand what you mean now. i was having a lil' trouble interpreting what you meant thats all. it was a $50 card...so i got it :D lol
