Good day to you. I plan to buy the following components and build a new computer myself. I am not an expert in this field but have some basic knowledge. Please advise whether the components below are compatible and provide comment where necessary.

Motherboard - Gigabyte GA-890GPA-UD3H 890GX Socket AM3 HDMI DVI VGA Out 8 Channel Audio ATX Motherboard.

Processor - AMD Phenom II X6 Black Edition 1090T 3.2GHz Socket AM3 9MB Cache 125W Retail Boxed Processor.

Memory - OCZ Platinum 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 PC3-10666C7 1333MHz Triple Channel Kit.

CPU cooling fan - Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro rev 2 Socket 775, 1156, 1155, 1366, AM2, AM3 Heatpipe CPU Cooler.

Desktop Case - Coolermaster Elite 360 Black Midi/Desktop Case - No PSU.

Power supply - Coolermaster GX 750W PSU - 6x SATA 2x PCI-E 80plus Certified.

Hard Drive - Seagate 1TB 3.5" Barracuda SATA-III 6Gb/s Hard Drive - 7200RPM 32MB Cache.

Graphic Card - Sapphire Radeon HD5830.

Many thanks for your advice and comments.

MOBO - AM3+ Motherboard

PSU - Something of better quality and lower wattage. Like Seasonic/Antec/Corsair/Silverstone/XFX/PC Power And Cooling and 550W.

Case - If in Budget something bigger.

Memory - 1600MHz won't cost alot more.

Anything with the Icore is a good build at this point. I don't forsee AMD releasing anything equal to the Icore Cpu's. Mem as usally DDR2 is allways best bet cause its cheap and almost as fast DDR3 hard to tell a difference. Everything else is just brand name for most part. Except Hard drives of course. I find WD last longer and performs better. But it could just be my luck with WD.

If your using a video card. See if you can get the Gigabyte GA 970A UD3.

AMD is not Tri channel. Either get 2X2gb. or 4X4gb of DDR3 1600. Look for G Skill.

Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro is ok, but not great.

Power supply, like said above, but I would probably get around a 650W to have some overhead.

Unless your getting a good deal on the 5830. I would get a 6850 or 6870.

So you want to use Icore CPU with DDR2 memory?

Good thing you changed it :)

DDR3 still does not give a big performance difference between them. Compare your hardware in MHZ. The processing is barely different. In stress tests it may out perform DD2 by a long shot but in pratice very little difference and the prices are rediculously different. You can pay the difference if you want but Im using DDR2 and I can probably out run your DDR3 machine.

DDR2 is way more expensive compared to DDR3.

And just for Fun I would like to see you build a computer with an Intel i Core series processor and DDR2 memory.

So, let me get what your saying here. He is getting a Phenom II X6 1090. You are suggesting that he gets a older AM2 or AM2+ motherboard so he can run DDR2

You do know that AM2 and AM2+ boards are being phased out.

DDR2 is more expensive then DDR3. Plus DDR2 1066 is as fast as you can get.

AM3+ boards support up to DDR3 2000/2133 and support the new Zambezi coming out

If your suggesting a i processor, you know the last Intel socket that supported DDR2 was 775.

Your a few years behind times here man.

yeah, and this is like the 10th thread he's said that on too.

back to the op, triple channel isn't supported, g.skill has 1600mhz ripjaws x series 8gb's for 65, also non x for the same, but x looks and sounds cooler, am3+ is better, and a cpu cooler is only needed if overclocking, the one provided is good enough otherwise, and i'd go for like a 555/955 for the next month or 2 untill bulldozer is out

Dear all, thank you for your comments and advice. I will take them into consideration before i buy the components next week. I already bought the Raedon HD 5830 a few months ago therefore i will stick on it. I will look for 2X2gb DDR3 memory. More comments and advice are welcome. Many thanks again.
