For the PSU any decent brand around 600W should be plenty (Corsair, Antec, OCZ, etc.)

5770: good choice, although don't expect max settings in games. more for medium (possibly some aa) or high (with no aa) settings.

Looking at around 800-900.

It's at about 900 right now, and if you think that an extra 40 bucks is worth the upgrade then I'll probably take the 3.4

I don't think I'm going to be overclocking if that matters, it all really depends on how safe and easy it is and if it voids any warranties.

As for PSU, what do you think about a silencer? What are the benefits.

Also, do I need thermal paste?
