so im new to this build computer thing...but i understand most of it....I wanna build a really fast computer......i want to use it to video edit...play game.....overall i just want it to be fast.....I have a budget of like 4500 or more to play with any suggestion on what parts to get??? Thanks in advance

I don't know if anyone is taking your post seriously because of your title. But I would look strictly at desktop components as they have more processing power than laptops. I would look at either Intel's Core 2 Extreme QX9650 Quad Core Processor or the Core 2 Duo E8400 Processor.

Anyone else help him pick out a motherboard, video card, RAM, power supply and case?

And since it seems you did not read the forum rules, profanity is strictly forbidden here.

But putting that aside.

Where are you located? U.S or overseas? It makes a difference on what website we use to show you the prices and availability of parts.

$1500 could get you a monster. Although 4.5k... :D

Full budget:

QX9650
X38-DS4
4GB DDR3

And I'd start offa there if you plan to spend the full 4.5k.

Oscaryu1 I looked up the GIGABYTE GA-X38-DS4 motherboard. It supports only DDR2 1200 memory, not Double Data Rate 3. I suppose that doesn't matter since DDR2 1200 is probably the same speed as DDR3 memory.

Here is 2 gigabytes of Kingston DDR2 1200 (PC2 9600) Dual Channel Kit Desktop memory:

guess you haven't done much research. $4500 budget comp is not necessary but it you really want to spend that much, that's like pretty much maxed out on everything:

- QX9650
- 780i
- 8800 ultra 3x SLI
- 8GB DDR3
- 2x raptor RAID-0
- 1TB
- prelude 7.1
- 1200watt
- water cooled

yea i dont think that you would spend close to that much to make a nice editing computer, but if you want to say you have the best of everything.....
