bulldozer review

Looks like no AM3 board support for Bulldozer, AM3+ only. But you can run a AM3 procesor on the new AM3+ board. Oh well.
 
Well at least it's still DDR3 so most of us will just buy a new motherboard... pity, i like this asrock board, it's nice :)
 
Well, at least the way that they have it setup will allow incremental upgrades, eg- Upgrade motherboard, then upgrade CPU. Better than needing both at once i guess.

How do you figure that? To run a Bulldozer you need a board and processor either way.

Plus. Say if you dont have enough to buy the board and processor at the same time. You buy a AM3+ board, then save up for the processor. By the time you get the processor you will probably wish you would have bought a different board because of newer models that have came out.

Either way you would be better off saving up and getting both at the same time.
 
kinda was hoping the cpu would be backwards compatible, but yea like stranglehold said, its best to wait at this point, tho you could still buy the board and carry over your cpu too, as far as im concerned cpu performance on the amd side has not changed that much the past years, so im quite content with the phenom 955 speed wise honestly, just going to wait till something comes out later along the lines of bulldozer being out a year
