Burner only works sometimes

I use DVD shrink. It reads the disk and and backs it up. WHen it ejects the original and asks for me to put the blank disc in, it begins to read it. It writes the lead in and gets to 1% completion and then kicks the disc out and says "Burn process failed". Then, I have to start all over again. I've burnt about 200 discs over the course of the burner's life, and like i said, it doesn't do this on all of them. Only about half of them. I've uninstalled and re-installed Nero and it doesn't make a difference. Any ideas as to what could be wrong? Thanks for your help.
 
when i continue to look through the timeline of everything that happened throughout the burn process, i get to a point where it says this:

All writers idle, stopping conversion
Conversion idle, stopping reader
EndDAO: Last written address was 1663
Burn process failed at 12x(16,620 KB/s)

Spark anything?
 
dont post in this one anymore. post in the desktop one thats where i am helping you. are you just trying to get your post count up
 
i didn't realize you were helping me. i thought it was more of lecturing me on not posting in two areas to generate the most response. I'll be there.
