Burners for linux???

Does anyone have or know of any external cd rw that works on a linux system?

If not, will a standard internal burner work????

The only difference is the software ... the hardware shouldnt have a bearing

yeah, I realised that, software was my main worry, I think there is an application called Ktoast or xtoast or what ever that might do it?
