Burning DVDs

hey everyone...i was wondering if anyone can give me some pointers on burning dvd's. i've tried burning dvd's but i've been getting problems cuz the audio would always lag. if anyone knows how i can fix the problem please tell me.

i am bruning avi videos, i have tried putting them in vob format but it doesnt seem to work.
 
i am using nero but i'm not sure how to use it. i have converted my avi files into .vob and now i just need to know how i can put the files in dvd. if you can give me some directions cuz so far i have got two files named TVS_01_1 and TVS_01_2 in the VIDEO_TS folder but for some reason the burn button wouldnt light up so i can't press it
 
Maybe you should try to convert them to MPEG2 first using something like TMPEG then burn them. That program never gave me any problems when I would convert stuff...

Another suggestion, don't do ANYTHING with your computer when you're converting the videos...
 
I dont think MPEG2 will work, I have a few mpeg2 files i would like to burn but cannot do it sucessfully in nero as it will only accept vob, ifo and something else. Anybody know of a free piece of software that will convert mpeg to to vob or ifo?:)
 
ive been having the same problems. Whenever I try to burn just a regular avi file to a DVD using nero vision the audio is waaaay behind the video. It is almost unbearable. It encodes it into a different format i know that. Is that were it goes wrong???
 
hey guys...i have successfully burned a video file to DVD without having the time lag. Here is how i did it. First i bought Winavi a software that can convert any video format to another. So i converted my Avi files to DVD's. With winavi, it doesnt just convert the file straight to a .VOB file which is the dvd format. winavi prepares the .avi and converts it so that you get everything you will need to burn a DVD. This includes, .bup , .ifo , and .vob files. Then you open up nero, and when u drag the files, just drag the folder to the burn area. NOW you'll be ready to burn. HOPE my directions helped those people who had the same trouble as I did. If there are anymore questions, plz feel free to ask me and i will help u to the best of my abilites
