burning movies to a dvd

Hey guys i am having problems getting a slide show i made with video in it to a dvd. I open nero 6 and i open it and select DVD and click Burn DVD Video files. I add it to the burn list and for some reason the selection to start burning is not active (cant click it) I have a blank dvd in both drives and i know it reads the dvd because i can click on the little drive logo and it shows that i have a dvd in both drive's.

I also have Power ISO but for some reason after i burn it, i try to play it on my dvd player(s) and it shows 2 files and both say ROOT (i believe it says root)

Any idea's on how to get my movies to burn?

It's not only that. I made a slideshow with video of my aunt who passed away and it wont play on dvd either. I'll edit "movies" out.

In that case :D You need to get a DVD codec converter. I don't know of any myself (free or paid).
