Buy a i5-4690k or stick with an i7-2600s?

I'm debating whether or not it makes more sense to salvage my old i7-2600s or just buy a new processor, most likely the i5-4690k. I will be getting a new GPU as well (GTX 770, maybe 780). Also I would ASRock Z77 extreme for motherboard for the 2600s.

So anyway, I have no clue what to do. Is the i7-2600s a piece of crap? Should I upgrate to a i5-4690k, or keep the 2600s and put the money towards a better GPU?
