Buy now or wait?

I'm looking to spend around £1600 - 2000 on a pre-built system, I know I'd get more for my money if I did it myself but having done nothing beyond replacing a GPU, whatever extra I'd be paying is worth the peace of mind to me.
PCSpecialist seems like he best place & apparently has great customer service, anywhere better?

Currently:

Gigabyte GA-MA78LMT
i7 920 (DO) @ 3.8
MSI GTX 970 Twin Frozr
8GB HyperX Fury
Corsair CX750
Noctua NH-D14

I've been told that I'd be better waiting until the end of this year as there's some big announcements on the way.. your thoughts would be appreciated.

That motherboard is for AM3 chips but the processor you listed is an older i7....?

Unless you're really being held back in games by your CPU, I'd wait. The i7 920 can still keep up with gaming pretty well and the 970 is a solid card that should still be more than viable.

Here's an idea of your current CPU vs newer offerings, even with the same graphics card.

What games do you play, and at what resolution?

Kind of weird that you have 8GB RAM with a triple-channel setup. Usually you'd have 6GB, 12GB or 24GB but you can have 8GB if you use sticks of different sizes I guess.

As the others have said, your CPU, whilst old, is still fairly decent and your GPU is fine. If you want to upgrade I'd get a new CPU, board and DDR4 RAM. Maybe look at the i5 6600K or the i7 6700K.
