right looking to spend 1000 english pounds on a new computer for gaming, just wondered what other brands i need to look out for besides dell and alienware. i dont really want to build one from scratch as i dont have a clue about which parts fit etc etc but if that would be the best option then just tell me and i will find out!

thanks, - sorry for the noobish question

well... some people here have a hobby,... you name them your budget and what you would use the pc for, and they can just give you a list with components :)
that said, since youre from the UK (assumption, since you said B pound ;) )
you might want to look at www.ebuyer.com :) im pretty sure some people here will know some more good brittesh sites tough =)

yes i am from the uk, can anyoine just give me a list of all the parts needed to build a computer and i will try and uild one on my budget, thanks

You need many things:

CPU (Core 2 Duo or X2 Amd)

Motherboard (Matches the socket of the CPU: 775 for Intel and AM2 for X2 AMD)

Graphics card - PCI-E

Case (case is really important, you do not want you computer to perform poorly because of overheating).

HD (Sata II at 16MB Cache is pretty good)

Ram (1G or 2G at atleast 667mhz)

DVD Drives (opitional)

Cooling fans for CPU (i suggest you get a better one than the retail fan if you plan on overclocking).

That is about it. Other things such as Monitors, Keyboard, Mouse and speakers are your own choice
