Buying: Alienware Vs CyberpowerPC or Ibuypower

Hello everyone,

It is getting to that time again. Been a long time since I have had a desktop computer. In the Coast Guard and have been stationed on a boat for the last 3 years so having a desktop was no a possibility. In its place, I have been using an alienware MX14. I have recently been stationed on land, and with a bunch of great games coming out (ESO to name one of them), I am looking to break back into the Desktop world and upgrade from my three year old laptop. Where would be best to unload some cash? I have read a lot of things about Alienware that has me leaning away from them as far as buying a desktop. I am not looking to build this machine this round. So where would my money be best spent?

Basics:
I play a lot of MMO's. I play a lot of video games overall lol. So having something that can handle running say ESO or upcoming games at top settings is important. I have a spending range of $1500 to $2000, possibly willing to spend a few extra hundred if it is worth it. Any thoughts and ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Best pre-made PC I could find within your budget in terms of performance, warranty and build quality.

Thank you for your assistance!

Just had two things. First one is why i5 and not an i7?

And with a budget increase to 2400, is there really anything that could be super tweaked?

An i5 is just as good for gaming as an i7 these days. Games don't utilize more than 4 cores. In the future they might, but that's not worth the extra price tag most of the time, as the money could be spent on a better GPU.

But if you insist on spending closer to $2400, I would use the same system, but make these changes:

Intel Core i5-4670K -> i7-4770K: $133
Enermax Liqmax 120S -> Liqtech 120X: $34
ASUS Z87-K -> Z87-Pro: $92
ASUS GTX 770 -> GTX 780: $235
Enermax Revolution XT 630W -> 730W: $26
ADD a Seagate 240GB SSD: $240
ADD a Samsung ODD: $24

New total would be $1912

Going above this would be a waste of money in my opinion. I would save the cash for a second GTX 780 if you feel like you need more horsepower.
