Hey everyone, I am new to these forums and I would like some help choosing all the right computer components to the new rig i am buying soon. I know a lot of people post threads about this, but i am another one of those people that would like some help. I plan on spending about $1500. These are the parts that i have pre-selected, and i would like ur opinion on how good/bad my choice is. Also if u have a suggestion to what might be better for around the same price or cheaper please tell me. The total amount I got is about $1300.

i would go with a better cpu if your getting the graphics card and that much money, first, i would 2x512mb of corsair valueselect for $110, and go with either a 3700+ or a 4000+, or the x2 series.

yea most definitly upgrade the cpu and are u sure u need such a powerful and expensive psu?

Yea i have already decided to change the psu....but i dunno which one for sure. And isnt that mobo SLI, i heard i have to get a certain psu that is approved for an SLI mobo.

I have also been lookin at different CPU's cuz the one i chose is on back order now. I would like some suggestion on this new CPU i have chosen. Also will it run fine with all the other components that i posted earlier in this thread. This CPU is only about 20 bucks more.

AMD Athlon 64 3500+ Processor (Winchester) Socket 939

Funny ... the Ultra-X Modular 500W PSU is vastly superior 12V@34A vs 12V@28A

and go with either a 3700+ or a 4000+, or the x2 series.
Well the 3700 is the same clock speed and K8s are not cache bound...
