I'm building a computer for the first time and i need some advice on how many Gigs of RAM to buy. I plan to build a 64Bit system so I will probably have the 64Bit Version of Windows XP. I do quite a lot of gaming, and i will also use it for watching movies etc...
On average how much ram do you think i should get?

Yeah

Definitely get 1GB and only later, if required get more. One thing I would tell you though. Do not get the x64 edition of Windows XP. It's not worth it for the time being. Stick with 32bit Windows XP if you do not wish to face problems.

what kind of problems happen with the 64 editon of windows

I think you have to go find all the drivers you rself, in order to get most of the hardware to work right, and lots of companies havent made them yet, and installing drivers can be a pain in the ass( at least in fedora, i still havent figured it out  ) So yeah you rbetter off with the 32 bit . At least for now anyways
