Hello,
I'm planning on buying new computer and so I need your help.
my budget is no more than 1k and I believe you can help me find the best computer possible at this price.
I want a fast computer that will be able to multitask and won't lag and annoy me.
I need it to be able to play MKV files and not get stuck even if it's been on for even few days.
I could really use ur help finding me that best computer possible that will cost me 1000$.
Thank you a lot ! ,any help is appreciated!

PS.
i don't want it to come out as if I'm asking for my hard work to be made it's just that I don't have enough knowledge when it comes to computers in order to be sure i'm buying the best computer out there for the given price.
actually I was interested in sony vaio E but was told it's not that great computer as I thought it was.
so ya.. lol thankss :)

I have owned over two dozen notebooks in the $450 to $1800 price range. Frankly, they all did what I needed them to do and having owned 5 or more different brands I can testify to the fact that every company makes junk computers in the low price ranges. In the price range you are looking for they will mostly all be good. When you ask "whats a good brand of computer" you will hear countless brands listed as good and there will always be someone telling you the same brand is crap. Sony makes some very nice computers. Every brand has its supporters and detractors. I advise reading consumer reports and reviews of specific models online. Take a salesman's advice with a grain of salt and study reviews online. All of this is simply general advice to consider while shopping. Personally, I'd stay away from e-machine. Good luck!! :D

lol first , thanks for ur advice,
second , actually that person didn't tell me not to buy the vaio cuz it was sony's , I put up the specs and he said they were crappy lol.
but uhm is there a computer u could recommend me , based on personal experience or ppl u know who bought a good computer at this price range.
also , I don't care about the brand I do prefer ASUS or Dell but that's just cuz they have worldwide warranty, other then that , I couldn't give a damn. as long as the specs are good and the reviews are appropriated I'm fine.
thanks :)

I was reluctant to recommend specifically because I am new here and I have owned numerous brands said to be crap and they functioned perfectly. I liked Dell, Gateway, Toshiba, and Compaq (better in the old days). I owned a HP I did not like it but partly cause it had Vista. I am currently using my Compaq C500 which I bought 6 years ago and everyone said it was crap. Its one of my all time favorite machines but a little slow nowadays. 4 moths ago I bought a Toshiba, (my third one) with a slow quad-core and a hugh screen that I absolutely love and it was $575 after tax. I like Toshiba's mostly lately but there are so many people that say they are junk. In your price range I'd say dells and gateway are going to be good. Also I know IBM and gateway are good manufacturers as well.

My final advice, go to your local store and look at specific models. Write a few down. Get online and search for reviews and search for better prices online for the models you wrote down and liked. these personal reviews are important because heavens knows what someone might say that helps you. I think it is a good idea to get a look and feel at a computer you might want to buy and wal-mart, best buy etc are great for that and often prices are great as well. I personally avoid extended warranties' as most all computer have a year and I have plenty of friends that can repair my computer at no cost if anything goes wrong that I cant fix. in closing, I have bought plenty of computers for less than $700 that served me very well but in your price range go for processor speed and RAM and features you need. :D
