1. Well if your gonna be playing games, 1GB is usually really good to have. If its light gaming, 512mb will be fine but multitasking wont be as easy

2. Any processor is reasonable for gaming, surfing, and watching movies. The one that would be best is the Core Duo processor

3. You can get media center its personal opinion or xp home or watever

4. The Core Duo processor is a mobile Dual Core processor, it greatly improves multitasking while saving battery life. Its definitly the way to go for a good laptop. It will be sufficent for gaming now and very good for gaming down the road.

Besides the 1GB of RAM and the Core Duo, it is also good to have dedicated graphics, or else your gaming will be limited. I would suggest nothing below an ATI Mobility Radeon 9700 or similar.

wat a 9700{how many mb?}

a 1.83 would be enough, but it all depends on your graphics card, it would not be worth getting an awesome processor and then a crappy gpu. if you have a system in mind show us it

If your not gaming and just using the laptop for basic use, then integrated would be fine, also because it gets better battery life.

PS: Matrix, delete your PM's.
