I was just wondering how good of a buy this would be? Will it be able to play the newer/newest games? The pc I have currently is about 6 years old and I will need one for work eventually so I need to upgrade.

Normally I would stay away from buying a computer from a company instead of building one from scratch, but I just don't have the time to fool around and take the chance of something not working.

Thankyou

It will play the newer games, but at the lowest settings. To play the newest games at the highest settings, you need at least a 8800ultra, but just below that is the 8800GT or the 8800GTS. Even with those last 2 cards, you will only be able to play the newest games (crysis) at medium high levels.

Why lower settings? What needs to be better?

My current pc has...
1.6ghz P4
128MB geforce 6200
1024mb RAM
No clue what my newest game is, probably Fable. But I can run that decently. Mostly I am into MMORPGs.

Thanks^^

Pre-build computers are bad at gaming no matter what video card they include (unless it's a 8600gts or higher)

A 8500 is pretty much a 6200, just with a few things a little better but not by much

The best bang for the buck right now is the 8800GT. They are so popular, they are hard to find. Everyone has sold out of them.

Ok so the 7600GT, this is a DDR3 card correct? Any clues on if this will work with the HP configuration I mentioned?

I don't need an insane video card, but the 7600GT looks good.

Thanks

Thats one thing I see HP left out, no way of knowing the powersupply. I suppose I will drop an email by them to try and find out. Thanks for all of your help + fast responses.

EDIT: Well I found a page about the motherboard specifications on this particular model. It does have one pci express x16. But it is only a 300W psu. I think even my 6 year old dell has an equal or better one that this lol. Is there any particular way of choosing an aftermarket psu, hardware requirements etc?

I can't find the case size on the a6250z. This PSU looks alright...

It says it is ATX form, but the a6250z motherboard is micro-atx. Anyone know if it will fit?

Thanks
