Buying Online

Just wanted to pass along my experience with a recent purchase through ebay.

I bought a gaming computer from a seller called Rytek llc. The computer is great but the auction was to include an anti-virus program, MS Office Pro 2007, Cysis pc game and surround sound speaks as well as key board, mouse.

Upon receiving the computer I found the anti-virus was an expired trial version, MS office was the downloadable trial version and crysis was loaded but no disc was provided. The 7.1 surround speakers pictured was replaced by the OG-1050 speakers. This is a 2 speaker with subwoofer which sells for about $21.00. The owner states I am stuck, will not work with me and no longer responds to my calls to their 24/7 support line...which always rings to VM.

I highly recommend everyone to avoid dealing with this site. rytek.org I suspect he doesn't even have a business license as the BBB of central florida has no record of the company.

Be Warned!

Yeah, I just don't want to see anyone else get stuck too.

The owner sent me an email saying he is changing his business name because I left negative feedback. I gotta laugh because I really don't think he even has a business license.

The 24/7 tech support never answers and they never respond to support emails. I venture to say if I used one of my other accounts and sent an email with questions about a new purchase, they would respond immediately.

Hey, I forgot to mention...this company operates out of Sarasota, Florida, however; they don't provide a physical address and won't when asked.

I'd would continue to spam the $h!t out of the them with e-mails/phone calls.

I agree. I have filed a complaint with Pay Pal and have been sending emails though Ebay everyday. I have resolved to post on forums to alert everyone to their shady business practices. Maybe if I get a bunch of posts out there, when people do a search they will see what happened to me and avoid them.

The computer sale was for 1558.99 so I was not happy to get ripped on the software. Oh, and the vista disc that he did send was damaged.

For starters, give them negative feedback with a detailed description of the problems you had. You know, the same comments you posted here.

I would do just that, however; the problem is that they only give you about 30 characters to make your response. So at best, all I could do is make short quick portions of the issue.

If they changed the speakers you ordered, can't you go through paypal or something and get a full refund? If it's completely different speakers, you should be able to use that as a reason...

I did initiate a complaint with Pay Pal and I would send the item back but I don't have his return address. The box it came in had my address only. I have no way to return it. Pay Pal will have to settle this but I am not hopeful they will return any of the money as they will not get anything from this guy. I am preparing to take him to small claims but even this will probably result in a finding for me but he will probably run and never pay. This guy is 100% shady in the way he is operating with me on this sale. Like I said, he is saying he is a business but I don't think he is...I suspect he is one guy working out of his house and has not tech support or anything else. It took over 2 weeks to get the item to me. So much for his "speedy delivery" which he claims. Alas, this is why I haven't purchased anything expensive through ebay is some time. The last time I did, I got ripped completely by another guy in Florida and he never even sent then item.

BTW, the installation was not done properly either so upon receiving the PC and working with MS as I was new to Vista, they recommended reimaging which I did and now it works much better...so this guy doesn't even know what he is doing.

well, i've heard of tons of claims courts that have taken these kinds of cases, and the person who got ripped off usually always wins.

try and get on a court t.v. show...do you know how bad that would be if you get taken to court because you couldnt be smart enough to refund his money, otherwise small claims

Its a sad case. I talked to my wife. She sells a lot on ebay. Maybe 3500 items already. She said i use and accept paypal and it works well. if you didnt wait to long to initiate the complaint. Paypal has an address of the seller. Did you call Paypal ? 888.221.1161

Call.......They can and should initiate a refund. Just suck it right out of his account. He won't like it.

Good luck
