I'm no help at all, but just wanted to say that I'm a Toshiba laptop fan, and that sounds like one sweet machine! :)

I have had this for a little while and no complaints, the only slow thing is the Blu-ray burner. Gets warm during gaming but I use a cooling pad so no freezes or shut downs. Everything else very fast. Here is the windows experience index scores.
Windows experience index rating 5.9
Processor Calculations per second 7.6
Memory(Ram) memory operations per second 7.7
Graphics Desktop performance for windows aero 6.8
Gaming graphics 3D business and gaming graphics performance 6.8
Primary hard disc Disk data transfer rate 5.9

What's the verdict Mimi??

I configured this model and purchased just today. It says likely shipping 10/11. I ordered the lower resolution (older eyes and high res with tiny fonts not a good mix as I discovered with an HP one I ended up selling ... and I don't even use reading glasses yet, jeez), but configured with:
i7-4700MQ, Windows 8, 6GB DDR3L, 750GB HDD, GeForce® GT 740M DVD SuperMulti (never use my laptops for blu-ray movies as have a sweet 51" 3D Plasma), LED Backlit keyboard, Wireless-N 2230, 2X2 BGN + WiDi + Bluetooth 4.0

dwall sounds good !
You will definitely like the backlit keyboard mine is on even during the day, also you still get 720p HD picture quality. Font size will not be a problem though because the touchpad works like a touchscreen to enlarge or decrease things by swiping with 2 hands away from center to increase or from outside towards center to decrease. Wish I would have added your wireless adapter(300Mbps), I missed that step when ordering so I ended up with the (150 Mbps) standard wireless adapter. I received mine by the expected ship date hope yours does to.
I can not tell you anything about windows 8 on this laptop because I have not used it and don't plan on ever using it on any computer, if I can help it!

Your specs :
◾Intel® Core™ i7-4700MQ Processor (6M Cache, up to 3.40 GHz) with Intel® Turbo Boost Technology
◾Windows 8
◾6GB DDR3L 1600MHz (4GB + 2GB)
◾750GB HDD (5400rpm, Serial ATA)
◾2GB GDDR3 NVIDIA ® GeForce® GT 740M with Optimus™ Technology
◾DVD SuperMulti (+/-R double layer) drive
◾No Touch Screen
◾Premium Raised Tile Keyboard LED Backlit with 10-key (black)
◾17.3" diagonal widescreen HD+ (1600x900) TruBrite® LED Backlit display

Let us know what you think when you receive it, thanks for your post :good:

I already have an SSD drive ready to pop in and another 8 gig RAM stick to replace the 2 Gig one - hard to wait, ahhhh.....

I will try the Windows Blue update end of the month (planning on just making the SATA drive the second hard drive for storage). I too have avoided the current 8. I have a Win 7 Pro license I can use if 8.1 doesn't make me change my mind :)
