If you buy a used CPU from like amazon do you think that's bad? For example I saw an i7 Extreme for $600 instead of the $1000 or whatever it goes for.

As long as it has a warranty you'll probably be fine. You'll most likely be able to tell if a CPU is bad right away.

im very wary of used stuff, espically off ebay, tho i bought my laptop cpu off ebay...but eh it was 25 bucks

When I see things like that I think that the guy bought it for 1,000$ and didn't like the performance he saw, so he thought he might be able to get 600$ just for the fact that it's EE.

You can get a brand new Core i7 for $290. I wouldn't buy a used i7 Processor for $600. The i7 Quad-Core Extreme Edition doesn't have much more processing power at all over the i7 930.

tho i7 prices on the 1366 are dropping...i think its due to intel planning on discontinuing the socket....
