Buying wife computer please help.

Out of those two the first one it has a quad core cpu and other such things.
Where as the second one does not.

Check out this one, it has a Quad core Intel CPU, 6GB of RAM, 640GB Hard drive. The only problem with is it uses integrated graphics. All you would need is a monitor and a graphics card.

Thanks, the one at Costco includes a monitor for $899
 
The only problem is the one at Costco has integrated graphics...no it will not handle games. It will play the windows games and a few very basic games but anything else not a chance. It would be easy to buy a low end video card and throw it in...that's an option also.

I'm sorry, I did not see that the Gateway has a monitor. It will bump up the price a bit for the monitor, that will put it just under $1000. That is a good deal really. Quad Core CPU, 6GB of RAM, 640GB Hard drive, ATI 3650....it has some decent hardware also. 22'' screen is the way to go...I think it's the perfect size. That computer would be just fine for your wife. It will also last a while with the hardware it has.

It says you can pre-order it.....the only question is "when will it be available?"

That might be something to consider....will she have it by Christmas?
