Buzzing Sound from PC

Computer Specs:
MSI NVidia GeForce 6600 GT 128mb
AMD Athlon 64 3200+ w/heatsink-fan
Wester Digital Caviar WD80BB 80GB Ultra ATA/100 7200 RPM HD
Chaintech VNF4 Ultra ZENITH VE nForce 4 Ultra
GEIL 2x512 pc3200

I play a game Called Anarchy Online...... When im on the desktop I don't hear this buzzing noise. But however when I load the game it starts. But if I minimize the game it stops immediatly and comes back when i un-minimize it. I very quickly stoped the fan on my video card/2 fans on the back of my pc. Thats not it. Also when im in game and that orange light comes on the front of my pc for half a sec or so that noise stops and comes back when the light goes away. PC store stated over the phone it might be the HD. When i take the panel off my pc and try to locate where its coming from it seems its comin over from my Videocard-CPU..... Anyone ever have this problem etc..? :confused:

That extremely is annoying. Been around pcs for almost 10 years..... And why on earth would my cd-rom be close to my video card-processor
 
I believe it may be Nvidia chips.

I had the same exact same problem during 3D modes and sometimes even fast scrolling.

I THINK it may be the capacitor on the card charging or the frequency cycle from the gpu interfering with other parts on the card itself.

did you try to change your refresh rate and resolution?

The weird thing is I replaced my computer with the same card and my old card didn't make this noise. It may be a manufacture bug during production where only a handful of cards will cause this noise. You, a couple other people and I happen to be the unlucky ones. Howeva, i neva noticed any problems concerning use, and it still works perfectly.

Hrmm how can i change my refresh rate? If i take the card out and i roll it over or somethin i hear somethin on one of them silver tubes on it make noise..... Also will this cause damage if i leave it to long with out getting it fixed???
 
Yeah, the tube looking thing is most likely a capacitor, if not maybe a crystal chip that defines a certain frequency range.

I can not garauntee this on going noise will not cause any problems, but I had my card for about 2 years with the noise and I never noticed any changes.

To change your refresh rate, right click on desktop>properties>settings>advance>monitor

change the hz up or down, change it accordingly and see if it still makes noises. I usually have my refresh rate at 75 anyways. Try your resolution too, but truthfully I haven't been annoyed by it much to really try to fix it. hopes this help bro.

*Update* Changin the Screen refresh rate didn't do anything with the noise...

Just gonna deal with it for awhile till i feal like sending it back and waitin 3 weeks for the replacement.
