someone i know have this card to sell at a good price.its 5 monts used.i curently have a ati radeon x1950pro 256mb on my pc.is this worth the change or not really?
thanks

TDP is the same between them, both 105w. The 9800gt is better for several reasons. It's Nvidia, more memory, it's Nvidia, more memory bandwidth, it's Nvidia, and DX10 is supported....did I mention it's Nvidia? The X1950pro does not support DX10. I love AMD cpu's but as far as graphics cards, Nvidia has got the goods.

way to show how fan boy you are.

If you have alot of money for your system, yes, go nvidia, get a 285 or a couple of 295's, but if you have a little less, it is better to get ATi, they have more performance for less. a HD4850 is about the same in performance as a gtx260 but enough less to make it noticable.

no one brand is totally superior to another, they all ahve their up and downsides, be it price, size, compatability power, cost to power, whatever

Hehe, I've recommended ATI to several people. The only downside to Nvidia is the price, thats it.

And...

The 4850 is more in league with the 9800GTX+/GTS 250. The GTX 260 and the 4870 are more equal.

Yes, the GTX260 would stomp a 4850. 4870 actually beats out the gtx260 in a few tests. The 4870 is currently the best bang for the buck card.

Not neccessarily, ATi has some pretty decent midrange/lowend cards, NVIDIA so happens to be king at the moment, just wait for GTX 300/Radeon 5000 series cards to come out :P
