I know very little about computers,my c/drive filled up [no space],I got a guy in to fix it,he gave me 20 gig of space 3 weeks ago I am down to 14 now and every time I check it it is a bit lower every day, question is how do I stop it and what is taking my space,if anyone can send me in the right direction please any help will be appreciated.

Ideally you should upgrade your HD by buying one with a bigger capacity but as for what you can do now:

Uninstall any programs you do not use.

Download CCleaner here and get rid of temporary files, cookies etc.

Turn off "System Restore", if you don't want to do that then CCleaner will remove all but the last Restore point, this will probably give you quite a bit of space back. You might want to check your "System Restore" settings and take the slider to it's minimum.

Do a Defrag.

i would suggest buying an external harddrive. keep all your pictures, music, videos, documents ect on that. and all your programs on your internal harddrive.

To find out what's taking all your drive space - download Treesize Free trial

Install the program and surf around the tabs. It'll give you a pie chart of location of your HD usage - and you can open folders and subfolders to see where all the space is filling up.

It could be windows files - or media downloads - internet files lots of things. Surf around treesize - and when you have a better idea of where they are. If you still have questions - about what you find - come back here and ask.
