Hi Ive got a ACER M1640 preinstalled with vista.

Its got a Hitachi Deskstar Hardrive 160gb partitioned into a C and D drive
I later attached a 500GB Seagate Hardrive to it as my F drive. I installed Vista onto my F drive and wiped my C drive clean of Vista now my computer
wont boot vista through the F Drive

Before i wiped the C Drive it used to come up with the DOS startup screen
with a list of drives i wanted to boot from

Windows vista home
Windows Vista home

the 1st one was the NEW F drive and the second the C.
now it comes up that the drives are missing to restart your computer press
Ctrl+Alt+Del ------ also ive tried to boot the computer from the a vista backup disc and when i install it says Drivers missing??

any suggestions how i can get passed his and repair my C DRIVE??????

You can't boot to Windows off a USB hard drive. You'll have to load something back onto the C:

Why not just reload your copy of Windows to the C: and start over? Seeing as it's formatted and you never got the other drive to boot, I'd assume there's nothing to loose?

Ill already gave that a go thats when it came up with Load Drivers so the C: wasn't showing in step 1: Allocate which drive you want to install vista.

when i wiped the C: BEFORE i shutdown my comp, it didn't appear under ,My computer, i think that space is still on the Drive but its no longer partitioned as C: only D: showed up.

If i put the drive in another computer as a secondary drive and use a program to re partition the space as C: would that be possible?

Ok hold up man before you do anything run a repair install it worked for me not 2 weeks ago when a friend changed a HDD letter and wouldn't boot into windows the good thing about this is you won't lose any of your files.
