I am learning to program with c for dummies. Before I start can someone tell me what software I need to program.
I use windows vista and dev-c++ doesn't work with it.
If anyone could give me links or tell me what the different software is called and what it does, compiler, editor etc.

I suppose you could use notepad to write it down in! That's always fun.......

haha. Seriously though, what do you need. What is notepad? Is it a text editor? How do I make a program out of it? Compile? Edit? Link? Type? Look? See? Listen? Feel? Touch?

As you might be able to see, I am slightly confused.

You need a compiler and none of the good ones work with Vista... I am SOL on that one, too.
