To save some money, would it be better to buy an e6300 and an awesome cooler, and OC it to like...3.2GHz
Or to get a decent cooler and buy an e6600

Thanks

Do you plan on paying $130 on a cooler?? (Difference between E6300 and E6600)

Why not get the E4300 with a decent $30 cooler and overclock it to 3Ghz?

Because you should know that temps arent always the bottleneck, many times it's that the motherboard just doesnt like the high FSB of overclocked C2D's, or that you just got a bad chip. Besides, whats wrong with your E6300 now?

Nothing is wrong with mine.
I might be building a new computer soon.

So an e6400 with a nice cooler will run past 3ghz easy?

And a DS3 would help?

Thanks

An E6400 should be able to reach 3Ghz given that you have an "overclocker" motherboard. And in addition to getting a good CPU cooler, you should also look at getting some high-flow case fans. They make some nice 120mm fans with 110CFM and an 80mm with 85CFM, for under $15 each.

I am looking at that antec in my review thread.
2 120's for intake, a 120 in the back and a 200mm on top.

and a mesh side panel.

Thanks

Can you show me a very good cpu cooler?

The Antec P180/P182? My friend had the P180B and it was a great looking case, but wasnt really extraordinary. I would recommend one of the Lian-Li cases.

I would wait until the price cuts and just buy the e6600 for $225. Or buy the new e6420 with a clock speed of 2.13ghz and 4mb cache just like the e6600, and it'll only be $189.
