Okay, so my aunt and cousin just got a new dell computer and a new hunting game to play on it. The game is Cabela's African Safari and it used to work fine, but the other day, it started to not work. Everytime the games is loaded, a message appears on the screen that says that the moniter is out of frequency range. Ive messed around with the resolution and the refresh rate, nothing seems to work. I think there may be a certain resolution that I will need to use, but I dont know what it is. I couldbe completely wrong, Im not very proficient with computers.

Computer Specs:
Processor: AMD Sempron 3400+, MMX, 3DNow, ~1.8 GHz
Memory: 512 mb
Video Card:NVIDIA GeForce 6150le
Audio: SigmaTel Audio
OS:Microsoft XP Home Edition
CD/DVD Drive: TSS Tcorp CDRWDVD TS-H493A
DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c
Game: Cabela's African Safari

THANKS!~

What is the monitor? Also, did you recently install a patch for the game, or updated drivers for your video card?

the game used to work, just one day it stopped and a message came up and said that the frequency was outof range. I dont know what happened to make it do this, all that I can guess is that my 9 year old cousin messed something up without knowing it. It can't be virus related or anything, the computer has never been hooked up to the internet. I am completely baffled.

I had this problem with BF1942 after i updated my graphics card drivers, to solve it I right clicked on the applications.exe file and clicked properties, then clicked compatibility and clicked 'run in 640 x 480 screen resolution'. Then when the game loaded i changed the resolution in the game then unchecked the 'run in 640 x 480 screen resolution' box.

When I researched this issue, just about everyone reported the problem starting suddenly for no apparent reason. The most responses were suggestions to load the graphics drivers (or update).

When you first hear the warning, you think of the monitors refresh rate. Whatever is causing the issue, I'd think that drivers or damaged hardware (graphics or monitor) is a possibility. It prob. is something much simpler then that though.

Try what nffc10 has suggested.

nffc10 - I dont know how to do what you are talking about, I messed with the computer more today, I finally got so mad that I reformatted and reinstalled all of the drivers, it still wont work correctly. I know that the driver is compatible with the game, because it worked at one time. Now more games won't work for the same reason. I attempted to set the video driver to the game, but was unsuccessful. I also tried to call Dell tech support, but no one would answer my call =(. I am starting to get so mad at this stupid computer that I want to just set it on fire. Can someone please fill me in? I feel like an idiot. AHHHH!!!!!1
