Cable Sleeving Question

For cable sleeving could i cut down the sleeve, wrap it around the cables, and tape it tight with electrical UV red tape every 2 inches or so? would this work instead of having to take off the power headers for all the cables? the electrical tape would also function as heatshrink.

Not for long term use! After being heated over a period of time the typical electrical tape will simply peel off or leave a sludge from the adhesive used. You would be better off with some plastic ties where you can simply fold the ends out of the way if needed. Don't count on the standard commonly used tape there.
