Cached ram memory

I've only seen this since playing battlefield 1. My cached ram Data keep going up and it isn't clearing I just upgraded to 16gb ram and currently I have 10gb in cached. Is there a reason it isn't resetting? Is this normal? Is there something I need to check? I've never seen this happen it any other game I've played before.

I5-3570 3.4ghz
16gb ram
G5x 950 2gb
Lastest drivers

Cached is just the OS loading objects into RAM that isn't actively being used.

You'd realistically want this behavior to decrease slower load times from the HDD.

If the OS or application needs more RAM then it will drop some of the cached objects.

Thank you for your reaponse. However it eating my free memory avaiable. I consistently have 0 free memory avaiable due to this. The cached memory has climbed from 2gb and now is up to 10gb so I only have 6gb to play with.

Free memory is better utilized as cached contents, otherwise it's just a waste.

Consider your cached memory as free memory.

So is it best to follow what the task manager says (ie 6gb of ram used). So it's best to follow the avaiable ram?

You really only need to be worried about the amount of ram in use. If the amount of ram in use is more then 80 percent of your total ram then its time to add more memory.
