Camera installed but not working? =\

Heya,
I've been having a problem with my camera that I just bought, it's a NIKKAI Mini Digital - I bought it to be able to take around to places where I wouldn't want to risk taking my good digital, but for some reason it's not working! I installed it, but when I go to get the pictures off it, it just says "Camera Connection Error" I uninstalled, and reinstalled it many times, changed it's USB port many times and even downloaded the driver setup again from the internet, but it still doesn't work! Any ideas of what I could do?
Thanks in advanced,
Andrea

By the way, I'm using XP home.

Does it supports XP?

Tried some searching but didn't get anything about nikkai. Where did you download the software upgrade at?

I didn't really know because I threw out the box (stupidly), so I went to this website which said a few of its details http://www.luminous-landscape.com/essays/funkeycam.shtml There you'll find a picture of it as well. It says, "the camera has no memory card. Just memory. Enough, in fact, for 18 shots at the camera's highest quality setting. When you get back to your computer just attach the supplied USB cable and transfer the files using the provided dreadful software.

In the end you'll end up with some 56KB JPGs which open up to about 300k. That's about 4 X 5" at 72 PPI – what you see above. Now keep in mind that these 4X5" shots are at 72ppi. (I said that – right?). This means that at 240ppi they would print out at about 1.2" X 1.5", about the size of a postage stamp." I hope that's what you wanted... It has no zoom at all

I've had a usb cord not work once, the cord might be damaged

I considered that, but when the cord goes in and out I always hear a bleeping sound and the computer detects the new found hardware, even though it doesn't work

Well, for that camera... I can't really say or find anything about it..
So I'd have to say for you to try and redownload and retry installing it again. Do you have direct x?

Then its probably just the camera. How much was it? like 20 dollars.
I'd say its probably not worth it, if you can just go return it.
Those are probably generic type digital cameras with not working or supporting software.

Hmm...yeah I guess you're right, I just got something cheap so I could take around and not worry about as much. Thanks for your help anyway...!
