I have a Compaq R3000 that won't turn on. It has a stick of RAM in it but not a HDD. When I push the power button the power LED comes on for about 5 secs then it turns off. I do not hear anything comming from the laptop at all when I turn it on. This happens both with and without the battery or powercord. The battery charging LED light does come on when I plug it in. Anyone have any idea whats wrong with it?

Bad Motherbord?
Well it looks like to me like you have an bad motherbord. But i would try replaceing the memory. The memory can be bad as well. Check that first. If it still dont boot up with different memory then i think you might have an bad motherbord on your hands.
