Yeah it will work without a cdrom drive, you just won't be able to install any software from a cd though.

i am pretty sure it will only work if you have a virtual drive running. at least that is my experience. every time i turn my computer on without it pugged in and NO virtual drive, i get an error message.

r u sure about this? perhaps you have a setting in bios to load from optical drive?

most netbooks don't come with one, and they work alright.

It will run just fine without one. But like said, if you dont have some kind of CD/DVD drive you wont be able to install anything from a CD/DVD.

Ofcourse computer can work without CD/RW drive. We need only CD/RW for write any CD or watch the DVD Movies. But If we need only installation for any software. We can use only CD Rom

A lot of PCs don't have hard drives, optical drives, speakers, etc. Kiosks are an example. In fact most "computers" don't have much peripheral hardware at all except maybe some sensors. However, as has already been said, Windows PCs should not require a CD drive (after installation at least).
