Hi, i have a ECS K7S5A 1.0 i plan to get a new motherbored later but thats what i have right now. I have a socket A duron pluged in. On the bored specs it says it suports duron/Athlon XP/Athlon what about a sempron 2800+ or a sempron 3000+? will these work on the bored?

Actully suposily MrReliable Belarc Advisor says i have a ECS K7S5A 1.0 but that is nothing like my bored. I was thinking i had a 3.0 by a picture sso nowim confussed

I figured it out i was looking at a ECS K7asa not a ECS K7S5A model DUH lol. so it is a 1.0 it was right. the specs for the processer part is
PROCESSORS

* 462 pin Socket A supports the AMD® K7 processors
o Athlon XP / Athlon / Duron processors

So its basicly the same anyways. so.. think a sempron 2800 or 3000 will work?

You'll be limited to FSB266 chips (well not really but faster procs wont be running at full speed)

Read the version number off the board

whats (k7)?
A revision of AMD processors classed as being SocketA/Socket462 chips.

No need to bump after a few hours.
