Can anyone help? Internet connection

I seem to have a very odd situation. I have a desktop computer with no wireless function which "interferes" with the home router whenever it is turned on. This occurs even when there is no wired connection.

The router drops offline and tries to reconnect continuously whenever the desktop is switched on.

All wireless drivers and software have been deleted off the desktop. Any suggestions - apart from a large hammer!

Is there an Ethernet cable connected between computer and router? If so most likely you have a faulty lan port on the computer causing the issue. Replace the lan port.
