I'm not sure if this is where im suppose to post this...

I am having a problem with my computer.....I use XP Pro....
Lastnight my computer was fine.....i went to bed.....left it on!!!
when i woke this morning, i noticed that everything was frozen....i couldnt exit or anything so i just did a restart on it......NOW, as soon as it boots up and it gets to the desktop....before any programs load i get a window pop up telling me that Explorer has experienced a problem and needs to close.....i click ok, and then it does NOTHING!! ...all i see is my picture on my desktop with no icons....not even the Start menu....i cant click anything.......

BUT.....when i get this error message, on it....theres a link i click to suport and as soon as i click that it opens the internet, if i do this, i can be online with no problem....but as soon as i close the page, im back to NOTHING and have to restart the computer and use the internet by clicking that support link on the error message,......does ANYONE know what this could be or how i can fix it??? I have a few computer friends on MSN Messenger but i cant even get that to open.....im so stuck!!!!

You might want to try booting up in SAFE MODE. To do this turn on ypur PC and wait till the first BIOS screen goes then tap the "F8" key. This will show you a menu of different options to use. Now select the SAFE MODE using your keyboard then hit enter. If all goes well you should be able to get to see everything on your PC but you will not be able to use the internet or anything like that. After you had a look around go to START and shutdown the PC. Then the next time you start the PC it will take you to the SAFE MODE MENU. Select Boot windows normally (at the bottom). Then hope it boots up OK.

well did SAFE MODE even work ??, if so you can do a system restore, then restore the pc back to a point where is was working ?
