Hi, I am new to this forum and am hoping somebody out there will be able to help me. I bought a new notebook and want to go on the net. My problem is that it doesnt seem to recognise available networks either in my home or in my work place. I have a laptop and dont have this problem with it. Is there some settings which I need to change:(

A good way to start would be to tell us what notebook you have. Check to make sure that wireless is enabled (should be in user manual). My netbook has a function key to turn wireless on and off.

Thank you for your reply. I bought it in Aldi two days ago and have not got it with me now. So I do not know the make. It has no wireless function button on it. My laptop does so I am familiar with this. I'll come back here tomorrow and I will hopefully get to work on it while I find out more. Thanks again

If there is no Wireless function button on the laptop then you have a VERY HIGH chance of NO WIRELESS WIFI ENABLED in your laptop. Didnt it come with a built in network adapter or wifi enabled?

You can buy a cheap Belkin g network adapter for less than £15.00 and plug it into the USB Port of your laptop.
Note: Also works on Desktop Computers.

Hope that helps.
