Can dual core handle high requrirements

The new celeron dual cores have pretty good reviews for speed and battery life, but I was wondering if it can handle today newer more demanding games. I know that processor speeds cannot really be compared by just looking at ghz, but when a game's system requirements show it needs a P4 3ghz, will a celeron dual core running about 1.6 be able to handle it or will the game not even allow itself to startup due to insufficient requirements. Because with the removal of th P4 from the notebook market and much of the desktop market it is hard to find any processor that will get you in the 3ghz range.

A Celeron Dual core is not the best for gaming at all. Ecspecially at 1.6Ghz. If you want to game on your laptop, go for AMD.

actually i have herd the intel mobile technologie is alot beter than the amd mobile

thats true as far as i know... but ive not checked out the turion benchmarks yet so i cant be sure

yea pentium 4's arent the best gaming chips.. so celeron's wouldn't do good at all... that would simply ensure that it doesn't slow down.
yes, core duo sounds like the best lappy proc... but no real laptop will outperform a desktop especially for the price.
